Love the little things that come with fall. Playing in the leaves, enjoying color like only God can create, the cool sweatshirt weather, and time with family and friends. We've got lots of trees and leaves so Andy took the backpack blower and made a couple of big piles for the boys.

Tried to put together Tyler's big boy bed this weekend. Since we are pinching pennies to achieve some life plans, we were excited to find a bunk bed set for $10 on craig's list. Andy took Ty out and picked up a new mattress/boxspring (can't bring myself to buy those used for my kids to sleep in...).

So last night while Andy was out hunting I (along with 2 big helpers) tore apart the crib and got the bed ready to put together. Threw the kids in the tub, clean them up, and we are on to adventures in toddler world. What we found out (at 8pm) is that it was a dorm bunk bed, longer than an average twin, and narrower. Didn't know that was possible. Which means, no bed at 8 pm. So my little guy is sleeping with the mattress and box spring on the floor.

And so goes the saga of keeping a 2-year-old confined without bars. No nap today so tonight went a little easier. Have a feeling this one is going to test us for a LONG time.

Finally unpacked my bread maker this weekend. It's been packed up/in storage for about 1 1/2 years with all the moving and building process. Now that I have it back I made homemade pizza this weekend. Can you tell my side of the pizza compared to the men in our house
This week, our friend from Italy is in town. He'll be staying with us while he's here. Should be interesting to have our first house guest. Just talked with Ryan tonight about the fact he'll be losing his room for a week. He wasn't thrilled about someone else being in his bed. We're hoping to finish off our basement to have our friend and his family stay with us when they come back for 6-9 monthes (about a year and a half from now). They have two kids our kids ages so it could be lots of fun or complete insanity. Not sure which.
So we are off for another crazy week. Lots of fun built in with Halloween, class parties, Monday Night Football and another blood draw. We're almost to November and can't wait for the doc to tell me to stop the blood thinners. Getting close...

I didn't know those dorm bunks were narrower than regular twin beds! Frustrating that you didn't realize that ahead of time, but at least you aren't out a ton of money.
Your homemade pizza looks delicious!
Terri - I don't know if it is all, our just our luck...
Forget the bed - go Japanese style. :>
We still need to get together....
Your pizza does look yummy!! I didn't know that you could make pizza dough in the bread maker...but are you surpised? Ha!
As for the bed...I'm with Elizabeth and say just leave the mattresses on the floor! :)
Moving up to big beds - always a major moment, filled with pride and thoughts of "oh my babies are growing up"!
You pizza looks great. I made my first pizza dough in a bread maker but with 6 of us in the house it just wasn't enough...
Love the idea of jumping in the leaves!!!
I am really tempted to buy a bread machines - and a waffle maker - and translate that to about 25 lbs. - Last winter on a cold day a woman brought a bread machine in and a crockpot of homemade soup - the building in her area smelled intoxicating!!!
